I’m a writer and an editor who was born in New York City, grew up in New Jersey and came of age in Amsterdam. Now I live in Toronto.
My career began as a cultural journalist for independent media in and interested in the Netherlands. Highlights include writing a monthly column for which I went shopping with Dutch celebrities in Amsterdam; reporting in and around The Hague on cases trying genocide, war crimes, crimes against humanity and terrorism; and covering the specialty coffee industry and world barista competitions as a staff writer for Sprudge.
Over the past two decades, I also came to hold a mix of freelance and contracted jobs in editing and copywriting for publications, businesses and non-profit organizations in Europe and North America.
